Day 348 – December 13, 2012

Day 348

Today is December 13th, which means that today marks the 12th, and final, photograph of the saguaro cactus that I’ve been photographing once a month during this project.  It has been wonderful to see it grow from just a seed.  My husband and I hope to see it grow so big it can’t fit in the house any more.

Previous Month’s Images:

January 13
February 13
March 13
April 13
May 12
June 13
July 13
August 13
September 13
October 13
November 13

Day 348 with pencil

I included an extra shot today, simply to show everyone the scale.  It’s still rather small.

Day 257 – September 13, 2012

Baby cactus time!  It’s the 13th of the month, time for my monthly picture of this little saguaro cactus.  Although in this month’s shot I decided to include more of its neighbors as well.   The needles are still growing, and if you look really carefully you can see the dust on it, which means it has been here around here for quite some time.

Have some free time? You should check these blogs out!

I was nominated for the Sunshine Award by http://adriansphotoblog.wordpress.com/

And while I’m honored that someone likes my blog enough to think of me for a nomination, I do not accept awards.  But I do take a little time to give a shout out back to Adrian for nominating me and share some other blogs that I’m currently following for you to check out.  Which will be a better use of your time than reading 10 random facts about me.

First off, check out Adrian’s blog: http://adriansphotoblog.wordpress.com/

And then in no particular order you should check these out:

http://landlimages.wordpress.com/ – They have a flower a day project going right now that is amazing.

http://h2obyjoanna.wordpress.com/ – A photo a day with water in every image.

http://neophytephotographer.wordpress.com/ – Newest blog I started following. But she’s doing a 365 challenge as well, which I always love to follow and see what comes each day.

http://reesephoto.me/ – His photos always seem like a sort of utopian world. Especially since I live in the desert.

http://denziljennings.wordpress.com/ – More 365/366 goodness :)

Hope you’re able to take a peek at them all and maybe even find some inspiration or maybe even a new favorite :)

I’m also going to use this opportunity to tell you about my other blog.  It’s not a daily thing, but it is pretty awesome.  It’s called From The Attic.  It’s a collaboration between my Nana and I with her vintage photographs.  Mainly between the 1940’s and 1960’s.  Hop over and check it out!

Time Is Passing

A quick, extra little post for today…
I just realized that the cucumber plant that my husband was growing inside, that I used a macro lens to photograph on Day 48, here:

https://victoriajudy.wordpress.com/2012/02/17/day-48-february-17-2012/

Is the same cucumber plant I photographed in the garden on Day 103, here:

https://victoriajudy.wordpress.com/2012/04/12/day-103-april-12-2012/

Its leaves were as small as my fingernails, and now they are bigger than my whole hand.  Time is passing.
