While we were using the telescope yesterday to view the Venus Transit, I was messing around with the lenses and noticed that by themselves they turned their view upside down.  So today I asked my husband if he would help me with my daily photo again.  I have a feeling I’ll be trying more shots with his telescope lenses, that is if he lets me mess around with his stuff.  :)

Day 157 – June 5, 2012

My husband is always up to date with anything that’s happening in the sky, since one of his hobbies is astronomy.  He let me know yesterday that today I should wait to take a picture of Venus crossing over the sun for my daily photo.  So when he got home from work he set up his telescope and projected the sun onto a piece of white matte board, and there it was – the silhouette of Venus crossing in front of the sun.  It was pretty cool to watch.  I made him project it on his hand for this shot.  He could only hold it there for a few seconds, he said it got really hot.  This is not supposed to happen again until 2117, so we figured we might as well watch it while we had the chance.

“N & M”

Today was a special day.  Today I, along with millions of other photographers, amateurs and professionals alike, photographed the world in a day.  You can check out the project on www.aday.org.  I took five photographs for the occasion.  So for my daily picture, I simply chose my favorite of the five, which was “N & M.”  My husband, sister, and I drove six hours to pick up my Grandma so we could bring her to my parent’s house, because she is leaving with us on the cruise in a few days.  

Always pay attention to the little things in life; you’ll never know what you’ll find.

I never wear this ring, it’s not really my style.  Mainly because it’s huge for a ring, at least for me.  But it is pretty cool.  All its little sides catch the light and it changes color every time you look at it.
