Day 128 – May 7, 2012

I wanted the cactus’ needles and the flower to be in focus.  So I took 2 pictures, each one with a different focus and merged them.  I love all the little flowers blooming on the different cacti at this time of year.  Makes things more colorful.

Day 125 – May 4, 2012

Even in a Walmart parking lot you can find something beautiful.

Day 119 – April 28, 2012

In this morning’s shade, I went out to take a picture of our newly bloomed Red Hot Poker.  My husband and I had never heard of or seen this flower before when we bought the packets of seeds a few months ago.  It finally bloomed after months and months and it’s gorgeous.  I love the soft gradation of color.

Day 115 – April 24, 2012

I was letting my friend’s dogs out this afternoon, and I noticed their hibiscus had bloomed.

Day 113 – April 22, 2012

It’s that time of year.  The cacti are in bloom.  I couldn’t reach the saguaro blooms, so I decided to take a photo of the prickly pear in bloom.  Even though the desert is usually just brown and tan and boring most of the time, every now and then it can be beautiful.

Day 107 – April 16, 2012

I went to take a picture of these pretty purple flowers my husband has been growing and I freaked out when I realized there was a spider on them.  Any spider that has bright colors usually means bad news, and for me, every spider means bad news, since I’m unnaturally afraid of them.  So I literally took this picture without looking.  I held the camera near the flowers and spider and backed my body up as far as I could.

Day 100 – April 9, 2012

Springtime, and the flowers and vegetable garden are in full bloom.   My husband is the family farmer/gardener.  I’m just the photographer who gets to enjoy the spoils.

Day 85 – March 25, 2012

There are tiny little purple flowers growing in my front yard.  They are gorgeous.  I love when things grow randomly out here in Arizona.  Most things that grow out here are pokey, poisonous, and green.  It’s a nice change to see such a pretty little thing growing.

Day 68 – March 8, 2012

Our first lime. It’s really small though. That’s an ant on it. It has a long way before it can be part of our Cuba Libres.

Day 61 – March 1, 2012

Two months down, ten to go.

We had our first bloom open up on some wildflowers we planted a while back. And I felt like Photoshopping something today. This is what I came up with for the day.
