There was all sorts of cool dead stuff around my parent’s house.  It was nice to have a change of scenery for my daily pictures.

Even though I was surrounded by large red rocks I was happy to find I was still captivated by a small red flower.  Anybody know what type of flower this is?

A lily macro for today.  They were dying, so I used them for a picture before we threw them away.

My husband grew a bunch of pretty wildflowers for us.  They made for a good macro today. 

Day 159 – June 7, 2012

In the past couple days we’ve had some beautiful flowers in the front yard bloom like crazy.  When I went to get the mail I noticed lots of little bees buzzing around the flowers and I decided I should be brave and see if I could capture a photo of them.  They were super fast, never spending more than 2 seconds on a single flower.  Way too fast to be able to get a good macro shot, so I settled for my normal lens and got a few good shots.  This one was my favorite. 

Day 154 – June 2, 2012

All that’s left of Day 119 (http://victoriajudy.wordpress.com/2012/04/28/day-119-april-28-2012/) are tall, dead stalks where the pretty blooms used to be.  Although, they have seeds on them now.  So my husband and I can plant them again next year without having to buy more seeds.  Thank you red hot poker.  

Day 147 – May 26, 2012

We’re still technically on vacation, even though the cruise is over.  We have a few more days at my parent’s house.  I was brave again today when I photographed another spider for this project.  I wouldn’t have believed it if someone told me I would have 3 photographs of spiders in 147 days.  I wish I could say something cool like, this project is helping me get over my fear of them, but unfortunately it’s not.  I’m still afraid of them.  

Day 135 – May 14, 2012

Today I am back home in Maryland at my parent’s house.  It was a completely gray day and it rained off and on.  Very unlike the desert I’ve been living in for the past 5 years.  It is still always nice to come home though.  Mom’s garden was blooming and made for a nice picture today.
