Day 65 – March 5, 2012

Random idea I sketched out a while back. Finally shot it and edited it today. Not only does this project keep me shooting daily, but it’s allowing me to finish old ideas. I love this project so far! I’m having so much fun.

  1. Great shot and editing Victoria. You edit in Photoshop or what? Have some plans for myself in photoshop as well….
And do you still have those vinyls? Although I must admit… somewhere at the attic I think we will have them as well… ;)

    • Thanks Joanna! Yep, I use Photoshop CS5. And yes, I have probably over 500 78s, 33 1/3s, and 45s. I love records! I inherited them from my parents and grandparents.

  3. This is a great shot. Nice concept and execution!
I like the smugmug button too! Having trouble finding it on smugmug… did you write code yourself or find it in wordpress apps? I’d love to add one to my posts)
Anyways….I really like the style of your photos. You’re very good at telling a story with the image (can you say Stock Photography? cha-ching!:) )

    • Thank you very much! I take that as a great compliment that other people think I am able to tell a story with an image. And you’re the second person to tell me I could make money in Stock Photography. I guess I should look into it. In college Stock Photography was looked down on by pretty much everyone. And I guess I just never thought about it. I’ll have to look into what it takes to get into it, and see if I can really make the big bucks…lol

And I did create the “Buy Prints”/SmugMug link myself. I couldn’t find one, so I made one. It’s pretty simple too:

      – Go to your Dashboard
      – Go to Settings
      – Go to Sharing
      – Under ‘Available Services’ there are some blue words “Add A New Service”
      – Under Service name: I named mine “Buy Prints.” You could name it SmugMug, or whatever you like
      – Under Sharing URL: I pasted in the link I wanted the button to bring people to – in my case my 365 Day Photo Project Gallery on my SmugMug.
      – Under Icon URL – I first used my Snipping Tool to take a picture of the little SmugMug smiley face guy. Then I brought the picture into Photoshop and sized it to the dimensions it asks for (16px by 16px). Then I uploaded the file into my Photobucket account. I copied the ‘Direct Link’ for the picture file and pasted it under the Icon URL.
      – Then I clicked create button, or create new service, whatever it was. And voila, I had a new button.

      Hopefully that helps! Good luck!

  4. This is a great! Interesting concept, and nicely done!

  5. This is great…is it bad that it also reminded me of stock photography as well? Like something I’d see on or on a Chill Moods Volume 2 cd cover…

    • I’m not sure…lol. I have a lot of people tell me that a lot of my work is reminiscent of stock photography. I guess someone has to come up with cool ideas…lol. So it’s probably ok. haha
